The Lights Are Everywhere

December 25th, 2006 · 3 Comments

Last night my family and I drove down Ridgeway Drive in Greensboro, NC, to view the neighborhood lights. The street is about 1/4 of a mile long, and it seems the entire neighborhood has adopted the Christmas Spirit.

You shouldn’t film and drive. You could lose your license.

the greatest thing about lighted Christmas balls is the endless joy they bring, not only to those who, on foot or by car, take them in but to those who make and launch them. just this year the lighted Christmas balls have inspired – several neighborhood lightball making workshops, YouTube videos of the lightballs (yours with sound, no less), carolers and a brass band to the lightballs, a poem to the lightballs, an oil painting of lightballs, note cards imprinted with lightballs, and a tee shirt with a hand drawing of the lightballs. the cool thing about joy is that it can’t be contained; true fellowship is inclusive. and if i would finish learning all about html tags i could have linked where all this stuff can be seen.

“build a ball, launch a dream”
