Damn Spammers

March 22nd, 2007 · 7 Comments

Why can’t we annihilate spam? Do spammers really get paid that well? Why don’t we boycott the products that get spammed? Maybe I can answer that one, it is because behind closed doors people really expose themselves and buy the diet pills, click on the farm animal porn sites, and want a bigger penis that stays erect for days. Not I said the long legged white man.

This is ridiculous, Matthew Mullenweg, the founder and developer of WordPress is asking people on his blog when do you think Akismet, the spam filter for WordPress, will catch the billionth spam. To be honest I’m surprise it hasn’t caught that many already. Check out the stats at the Akismet site. Mind is boggling right now.

I hate how it trickles into every major development on the Internet. First emails, then myspace, youtube, splogs, blog comments…what’s next? There going to bash our cell phones? Please don’t read this spammers, you scum of the earth. I don’t only hate what you do but I don’t understand how you can live with yourself. At least some people are doing something about it.

My brother told me about a neighbor who wanted to introduce him to an “internet marketing” job. As my bro’ explained it, I realized he was being recruited to be a comment spammer. I let my brother know exactly what scum these losers are and my likely uncontrollable compulsion to strangle one should we ever meet. My brother declined the job offer and declined to tell me who is spamming neighbor is, but he’s somewhere in Greensboro, NC.

Interesting. I’d love to do a podcast with a spammer.

There is a solution to spam:

At first I thought we should burn them alive on TV. But then I realized there would probably be a secratary or two with a couple kids that is relatively innocent, and I would feel bad. So instead I propose we just beat them in public with canes or whips – on the 30th lash, they are made to recite a nicely written poem about what scum they are, then medically sterilized. What do you think?

Ha! Good luck finding one who will admit to spamming. From what I’ve seen, they have convinced themselves that they really are providing a valued service. But, truley, an interview with one who has turned away from the dark side and would spill his guts would be facinating. Lacking that, you’d have to try to find someone in the business of “search engine optimization.”

Jarod, torture is to kind they should be made to go to everyones house and get slapped by everyone in the family how many times they get spammed.

As far as innocence? there are none, secretaries and operations are to blame just as much as the products being pushed, they are expediting the experience.
