When I was growing up my brother and I talked about doing something similar to this. Back in the 80′s there was no was to do this unless you had a film camera and patience. Neither of those we had. But in the eight grade I did get a GI Joe aircraft carrier that took me to total geekdom of action figures. Only problem was I was going to high school and couldn’t imagine playing with action figures anymore. So I lost touch with the inner geek in me only to break my leg playing high school football.
Anyway I came across this clip on YouTube’s front page and had to post this for Short Film Friday. Check out what this guy has to work with, then you will appreciate this animation some more.
I apologize for the quality of the clips. I am limited in resources and funds, and had to create using free stop motion software as well as a cheap Logitech Webcam. I am also very new to the process of creating/filming/editing stop motion animation. Perhaps with time and popularity this series can grow to become a more complete and broadcast worthy product.
Go to his Myspace page and check him out. He is also trying to make a sponsorship deal with a company that makes stop motion animation software. Show him some support and email them on his behalf. admin@stopmotionpro.com
