How To Bleep Out a F@#$ing Word

July 8th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Mo, thanks for the email and here we go.

In the timeline double click the audio section to open it up in the viewer. Scroll through the audio and place a marker by hitting the M key at the beginning and at the end of the fucking word you want to bleep.

Now you will see the markers in your timeline. Hit the B key to select the blade tool and make a cut at both the markers. Like dis…

Go back to the viewer and you want to click on the lower right button with a filmstrip with an A on it and select Bars and Tone and select Bars and Tone (NTSC).

bars and tone

That will open in the viewer. If you hit play you will hear the annoying tone which you will use to bleep out that shitty word. Go to the head of the timeline and click on the small lock on the video side. If you have multiple layers of video lock em all.

Now place your timeline head at the beginning of the cut audio you want to bleep.

Now go to the Canvas window and click the replace button or hit your F11 key on your keyboard and the tone will replace the dirty word that put me in this mess.

I hoped this helped and I hope you enjoyed this tongue and cheek tutorial.

Where can you get software to bleep out profanity from movies at home?

    Josh,

That my friend I have no idea. Most digital cable boxes have parental features to help you block out certain material. I would look into your cable or satellite providers website for further information.
