Thank You Podcamp Philly

I drove back yesterday right after the Xbox 360 giveaway in which I did not win. But kudos to the gentleman who won it, I just hope he uses it wisely and it doesn’t get abused. Thanks to Brian Conley and his fianc? for allowing me to crash at their pad and for the comfortable couch. I apologize for not putting the couch back together after I awoke. My manners were still in REM sleep.

I went to Philly to help promote ConvergeSouth Film Festival. I put the word out and met some great people along the way. Like…

The best thing about these conferences are the people and the information that they love to share with other like minded people. This is exactly what ConvergeSouth will be like. Brian and Steve led a session about the media they produce for Alive in Baghdad and Alive in Mexico and their message was pretty clear. Anyone can do what they are doing. They don’t feel like what they are doing is anything special. They are just doing it.

The part that amazes me is the fact that they are doing this as their jobs and are being mostly funded by users and with some media contracts for their work. They just put together volume 1 of Alive in Baghdad on DVD and will soon be available for sale on-line. Brian will be in attendance for ConvergeSouth Film Festival so if you have any questions for him or would like to talk to him about funding I’m sure he’ll be open for it. Thanks again Philly and the guys from The Best Damn Tech Show Period for the after party Friday night. Great time. I invite all to sign up for ConvergeSouth and attend, it should be just as good. Hope to see you in GSO or another podcamp in the future.

Thanks so much for coming to Podcamp, and sorry you didn’t win the XBox.

So, so great. Thanks for taking your readers telepathically along (sort of…) to Podcamp with you via these updates. I feel like I’ve kind of been! Yet your posts also make it clear that nothin’s like real live attendance. –Looking forward to future Podcamp possibility!
