Why I Should Be The Shooter/Editor for Sundance Film Festival Coverage

November 21st, 2007 · 2 Comments

I was doing my normal, looking for work routine browsing through craigslist and came across a headline that caught my eye. “Shooter/Editor for Sundance Film Festival coverage” Oh my. That sounds like a fun gig.

I have one thing to say to them… OK, one very long thing to say to them. I will jump in my batteredmobile and begin coverage from Greensboro, North Carolina to Park City, Utah. Long trip but well worth the footage I will shoot along the journey. I will make a route weaving my way through the states meeting and interviewing some of the directors, actors, and producers that are being featured in this years festival. OK, so I miss the two biggest markets for filmmakers on my journey. But you know there are a lot of talented people in between NYC and Los Angeles.

This is the moment in my life where I have the time and experience to do a project like this. I am a successful (positive energy) independent producer with the enthusiasm and ideas that will ignite the audience of Park City Television. I have no problem getting in front of a camera and putting my grill on TV for the cause that I believe in. Oh did I mention currently I do not have anything during those 10 days. Hell lets make it 20 days and give America’s Premiere Film Festival a good kick in the pants.

How am I qualified? Glad you should ask. Besides being an award winning documentary filmmaker, and internationally recognized blogger. (what up Turkmenistan!) I have an infamous mind that doesn’t know when to quit, just wish my body shared that. Knowledge of films that an intellect would shake his head at in disbelief and of course the privledge of being an Apple Certified Professional in Final Cut Pro and Motion. Can I get praise from the peanut gallery?

Sponsorship Opportunity
If a car rental company wants me to drive their product, I’m cool with that. Or better yet hit me up Expedia, Hotwire, Travelocity, Priceline or even yet an up and coming travel agency. I will need car and hotel accommodations on my voyage. Better yet Chevy, GM or Ford should jump on the band wagon and put me in one of their gas alternative cars and I can fill up at some of the ethanol or biodiesel stations. This whole festival is about ideas and new way of thinking. Speaking of that… I don’t think anyone has ever premiered a remake at Sundance. Although I could be wrong.

I understand you will have a ton of resumes to sort through but hopefully this link will get your attention and force you to delete the Craigslist post. If I’m not selected for this gig. I will applaud your choice and move on to other projects that are driving me and my career closer to Park City, Utah in the near future.

Thanks for humoring me peeps.

Hey Park City, save yourself a lot of trouble and hire Andy already!
