Big Ass Coon Dog

January 29th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Angela and I just adopted Kisa, a rescue dog from The Animal Awareness Society. They found her in a dumpster when she was 4 months old in South Carolina. This is one big girl. She is only ten months old and is already 80 lbs. She is an Akita mix, we think with Saint Bernard. Beautiful dog and very well mannered. That is due to the care of her foster parent. Shirley the way you look after animals is simply amazing.

I actually stumbled into Petco off Wendover Ave in Greensboro with no intentions of buying anything when I came across this beauty. I was actually interested in a cat when Kisa came up to me and gave me a big lick. Yup I’m that easy. Two weeks later she is now in our home and to stay. Things I need to do in order to keep her happy.

  • Get an Xtra Large Crate. She was crate trained and misses her crate.
  • Reinforce the backyard fencing. It is a mess right now and I can’t leave her alone in the backyard or she will escape.

All in all this will be a difficult transition but hopefully all will work out well.
