6′2 and 266!
Last year I challenged my wife to see who could lose the most weight. I had more to lose so we went by the TV standards, which is percentage of body loss. I kicked her tail but it only lasted 6 weeks. In those 6 weeks I lost 25 lbs and began feeling great about myself. That lasted until we started shooting “Dogs of Chinatown.”
When you are on a shoot for 3 straight weeks with a small budget you eat what is supplied. I did and it was all crap. I haven’t stopped eating crap since. I want to, but have a very difficult time doing so.
Here I am once again going to publicly embarrass myself hopefully to push myself to take better care of my health. I might even do a couple of video blogs. Might!!
Where did I go wrong last year? I got lazy, comfortable and the food just tastes so good I don’t want to stop. Now I refuse to get over 300 and luckily I’m not that close. But 266 is close enough. I’m not at my heaviest but it is pretty nasty. So bear with me while I update each week about my health and who knows I might even educate a couple of desk jockeys.
Anyone want to join me in the weight loss fiasco and challenge me?

Good luck Andy.
Oddly enough, I also started at 6′2″ and 266 lbs. and that was the heaviest I’ve been.
Weight Watchers and lots of vegetables are working slowly.
Vegetable omelettes, vegetable salads, vegetable soups.
I’m heading toward 230.

Cardio, cardio, cardio + a good weight training program and a healthy diet of chicken, fish, and veggies (cut out the desserts and sodas!), and you can begin to see dramatic results within a month. The key is sticking to it, and that’s hard, but not so hard if you can find someone to do it with you and hold you accountable. As for cardio, you can just get on a treadmill for 45 minutes at a time (iPod recommended), and just power walk it at a 4.0-4.5 speed, 5-10% incline. Running not required. Best of luck, Andy!!

When I moved back home from DC I gained a lot of weight because I was driving everywhere instead of walking. Now that the weather is nice, my daughter and I will start our walks — early in the morning 4 days a week. very peaceful and helps with shedding the pounds.
now if i could just stop eating so much ice cream!

Sean - You don’t count I’m alway competing against you…
Tony - Good to hear about 230 coming up. I remember that number like an old girlfriend.
Jeron - Cardio I can do, I have a bum ACL that likes to act up at weird times. Some weeks I can do anything others I can barely walk. My ACL was replaced with a cadaver’s ACL. Who knows what condition they were in when they decided to donate it. My hardest part is the eating thing. I make some of the best homemade pizza and that is my weakness. But thanks for the support.
Dara - Weather is great and it is time for me to walk the dog for an hour so she will be quiet for the remainder of the day and so I can get my exercise. I love the ice cream, esp. Eddy’s Cookie Dough Explode.
