As a kid I always wished for more than I deserved, I think we all do that, but I was never disappointed. When you are around friends and family and celebrate the day you were born, it is the best feeling in the world.
May 31st, is my birthday and I have an odd Birthday wish. Before I get to that let me explain what happens the past few years on that day. I get a card with a check in it saying Happy Birthday. Money is nice but it normally goes to bills. That is just the nature of the beast when I get money for Xmas or Bday.
This year I want to put my Birthday money towards the registration fee for the NATPE LATV Fest 2009. If I register before Friday June 5th, it is $200 off the $495 price. I have the money for that. But then there is the airfare which I’m working on. If anyone has any frequent flier miles they want to gift me
I will appreciate that ten fold. Where will I stay? I might hit couchsurfing.org or hit up a few actors I’ve worked with to see if I can crash on a couch. Or if any of my great readers want a tutorial in house I can do that for a couch as well. So, if you haven’t guessed by now I’m a freeloader and I need help to make this happen.
So why LATV Fest?
This is the biggest conference where you meet Television Executives in a Pitch Pit and you pitch your TV concepts. A good friend of mine told me about a web-series competition that NATPE (National Association of Television Program Executives) was hosting and that it would be a good idea to go to the conference. I looked over the categories and realized that all the episodes that we shot for Corporate Assassin was either to long for the comedy category (:30 -5 mins) and to short for the long format category (18-24 mins). I tried to edit down a couple of episodes and it just didn’t work. Didn’t have enough time to shoot a new episode so I combined all three episodes and called Brian up to shoot a couple of scenes to tie everything together. That worked out well and to be honest I like it better than the separate episodes.
So when Angela asked me what I wanted to do for my Birthday I thought about it for some time. Then it hit me! I want to go to this conference and pitch Corporate Assassin and another show I’m working on in development. I called Blake and Micah and told them about my idea and they are open and excited to translate their films into TV shows. I’m also open to any other ideas, if you have an idea and want me to represent your idea feel free to contact me. I will act as your producer. They have over 40 TV, production companies and talent agencies that will be present in the Pitch Pit.

If I didn’t have anything to show, I wouldn’t go. But I feel that we have enough stuff to show and pitch to TV Execs.
If I don’t get airline tickets I might have to do a road trip…which would put me financially in a hole…Would there be any sponsors for a Road Trip? Never hurts to ask.
