Troubleshoot This

September 14th, 2009 · 1 Comment

A friend and fellow filmmaker came across this in Final Cut Pro and wanted to know if anyone has come across this. I’ve not heard of this and wanted to reach out to my readers to see if any of you have.. Check it.

We captured all the tapes and footage and logged it and what-not. Then I consolidated it to a new hard drive.
So, of course I then need to reconnect the media.
No problem at all for 99.9% of the footage and audio.

However, for some reason Camera A,Tape 1 footage will NOT reconnect. There is an offline file named ” (that’s right, a single quote) that it can’t find. It finds the actual footage just fine, and acts like it is connecting.
However, because it can’t find the ” file, it doesn’t actually connect.
Cameras B and C,Tapes 1 (all from the same day) are fine, just Camera A.

I’m trying to avoid a re-import because the audio is already synced and multi-clips are already synced.

If anyone has come across this please feel free to contact me or leave your wisdom in the comments section. Thanks.

I had a similar issue… and Apple store told me to create a brand new timeline and new project and sequence and then import and reconnect… it worked for me… you may have already tried thisw.
