The L.A. Web Festival has officially accepted Often Awesome The Series. Blake and I are very humbled and excited by the selection. I was contemplating on traveling to attend the festival but personal issues have come up to keep me home. I’m a huge fan of FX Factory Pro plugins. They keep pushing the limits and are being recognized as some of the best plugins available. What’s new in the update?

Rocky Mountain News Going Out With Class

After 149 years and 311 days, the Rocky Mountain News published its final edition on February 27, 2009.

I know Denver will find its way without the paper and the citizens will come together to figure out how to keep everyone informed in their community. As far as the talent that wrote the news, we will have new bloggers, copywriters, screenwriters and a visionary documentary filmmaker. Good luck to the people that brought Denver, CO the news for so many years. Everything will be alright.

New Corporate Assassin Website

I threw together the original Corporate Assassin Blog to have a place for the episodes. As the year passed I’ve been watching and enjoying some really good web series. But they all seemed to have a destination for the viewer to watch each episode. I wanted that for the Corporate Assassin site. I’m but one man that is skilled in certain areas and not so skilled in other areas and to be quite honest it wears me out when I look at code for a long period of time testing if the code is right or wrong. I tried dreamweaver, iweb and even looked at some flash templates…nothing.

Until web programmer guru John Ford sent some links my way. A new blog it is. It presents the episodes where I want it, and I can embed the videos in HD so it looks the bomb. The template was easy to install and configure. It was by far the easiest template for wordpress that I have used in 3 years.

That got me to thinking, what else can I add to the site. I added a ning, social network for The Corporate Assassin. I encourage all to join up.

The past couple of days have been real encouraging for me and the Corporate Assassin web series. I’m working with a CPA on a tax episode and had a great sit down meeting with a financial expert on a big episode about the financial crisis. If anyone wants to throw their two cents my way about either of those episodes I’m open. The financial crisis episode will be roughly 22 minutes, trying to see if we can get TV length. Also we want to shoot it in either NYC or LA with some fantastic actors. Stay tuned for a promotional video gearing up for next week.

Cool Happenings

Right now is an exciting time for me. First my brother’s brain child, the dotmatrix project is moving full steam ahead and picking up momentum. Last week Go Triad, a local weekly newspaper did a piece on the project. This week Mark Burger of Yes! Weekly, another local weekly entertainment newspaper did a cover story on the project. It is really cool seeing everyone get excited about the dotmatrix project. It looks like we have our filmmakers ready for July 31st show. If anyone is interested in shooting or editing a song from one of the bands hit me up.

Second, Micah Moore just posted this cool new trailer for Dogs of Chinatown. The film is a week away from completion. Meaning it is on the way to get Mastered in HD. Micah and Blake have been busting there hump to try and get this film done in time for the distributor. All I can say is WOW, I’ve seen a rough cut and it is something to marvel at. Bravo Micah, congrats Blake all your hard work and dedication is about to pay off.

Casting Call for “War of The Dead” & “Corporate Assassin”

My good friend Jesse Knight is holding auditions for his film “War of The Dead” this weekend over at the All Aces Media Studio, located behind College Hill Sundries. So I figured why not hold auditions for The Corporate Assassin as well. So here are the details.

Saturday and Sunday we are holding casting for two projects. The casting will be at All Aces Media Studio on the corner of S Mendenhall and Spring Garden directly behind College Hill Sundries bar down a sloped driveway on South Mendenhall Road in Greensboro, NC.

Collings (peon scientist whose job it is to set up a video camera in a lab)

Private Micca (scared communications soldier, gets blown up but needs to stutter before being blasted)

Corporal Flint Wattler (carries a heavy mod chain gun, capable of killing and killing and killing and…

Corporal Karen Booth (carries a heavy mod chain gun as well and is equally if not more of a killing machine than Wattler.

Private Miguel Bay (young soldier in Adimas’s unit)

Sergeant Williams (soldier that dies horribly from zombie. Must be comfortable with having their privates bitten off by disembodied head).

Naked zombie woman (must be able to drop their heads back behind their body kinda like a scorpion tale does. Other than that they must be good at being a beautiful dead creature of unspeakable horror).

Medic Soldier (must be a good medic soldier capable of doing medic soldier stuff).

Crazy-Looking Old Dude (must be able to pass for an old Italian man and say “morti viventi!)

Che Rivera (one of the mayor’s flunky bodyguards)

Mr. White (another mayor bodyguard)

Dr. Lila McCracken (sexy Dr. of the base. Beautiful, Intimidating, Dominant, and being capable of almost having sex with Adam Dragin at all costs before being turned to the dead side).

Adam Dragin (employee of the corporate military base. Capable of almost having sex with sexy Dr. Lila McCracken and instead becoming her dead awake dinner).

Pirate #1 and #2 (and probably many more) (capable of pirating lowly refugees on their way to military zombie slaughter. Must be able to pillage and cause trouble).

R. Saunders (bumbling scientist capable of being yelled at by Dr. Jevans)

4-5 Choad scientists (several peon scientists who pretty much end up as zombie treats)

I need two news announcers. (they need to be good CNN, CNNHL, FOX, MSNBC types – Hannity, O’Riley, Olberman, Cavuto, Scarborough, Robin Mead, etc…)

1 or 2 talk show hosts. (one is political talk show like Meet the Press, one is ultra crazy – a sort of Springer, Oprah, Sally Jesse, Geraldo types, very sensationalist)

1 or 2 Radio announcers (politically charged)

3 or 4 show guests for the above mentioned to host on their various shows.

and lost but not least…

The President of the United States (to anyone that dares)

So along with the mentioned parts there will be an infinite number of extra roles available including soldiers, technicians, scientists, refugee’s, pirates, and of course especially zombies.

The Triad’s New Gaming Center

My good friend Jared Miles just opened a gaming center in High Point, or maybe it’s in Greensboro. Regardless of the location parents have a place to drop off their kids and older gaming geeks have a place to geek out at. If your addicted to Halo 3 then Mule Bytes is the place for you. It is a great set up. They hold Halo tournaments all the time so check it out if think you can hang. I know I can’t so don’t bother to ask. I went the second week it opened and I got slaughtered. I always leave early other wise the vulgarity that is not allowed on the premises would be flowing out like Niagara Falls.
